Camping at the Cottage – May 24

May 27th, 2010 No comments

This is the second time we’ve used the trailer. We decided to head to my uncles cottage, and spend the long weekend there.

We left London around 2:45pm, and got to the cottage around 7. We setup the trailer on the top of the hill, before going down to the cottage parking lot. The bugs weren’t bad, and the screen room kept them out pretty good. The weather for this weekend was awesome! We didn’t get any rain, and it was sunny every day!

The first day, we hung out at the cottage dock, and went into Severn Falls for some penny candy, and a walk on the docks. Sunday, we headed to the big chute, and walked on the rocks there, and even found another cool spot to hike, which lead to a nice lake. And for Monday, we packed up around 3pm, and headed back to the cool lake and spent the afternoon there. We left around 5pm, and headed home.

The weekend was awesome! The trailer worked great! We are headed back up to that area in a couple weeks!

Thanksgiving 2009 – Bancroft, Meyer Cottage

October 21st, 2009 No comments

Usually, every Thanksgiving, we head up to my Aunt Ruths cottage, and spend the weekend. This year was no different. The weather was a little rainy, but bareable. We had some nice days. We even visited the Calabogie racetrack and watched a couple cars go around. The last couple days we headed to the Meyer Cottage and spent a night there. Then home. Great weekend!

Labour Day Weekend Cottaging

September 7th, 2009 No comments

Went up to the cottage for Labour Day Weekend.  Left thursday afternoon, and stayed till Monday afternoon.  The weather was so VERY AWESOME, and had a great time hanging with family and friends.

Got to do some boating, skiing, knee boarding, and atv’ing.  Also did alot swimming, and relaxing.  I helped Andy with moving some wood, fixing part of his deck.  And the most memorable moment for me, was using the John Deere tractor to move gravel from one location, into the forest where he was building his shed.  I’ve always wanted to use a bulldozer / tractor to do work, and finally had the chance.  LOVED IT!  I could do it all day.  It’s like a machine, that is an extension of your arms!  See the picture below.

It was an awesome weekend to wind down the summer!

Cottage for the Long Weekend!

August 3rd, 2009 No comments

Just got back from up north.  I had a BLAST!  Lots of swimming, campfires, ATV’ing, rockjumping, and of course hanging with family and friends!

The highlight of the trip was jumping off the rocks at the Big Chute.  The water hasn’t been running when I’ve been up there for years, and now that it was running, Jumping into the rapids was awesome!

Good times!

Cottaging.. Boating.. Fishing.. Racing.. 4×4’ing.. Swimming.. Wedding Crashing!

July 6th, 2009 No comments

Booked a few days off and decided to head up north.  I stayed with My uncle at his cottage for a few days.  It consisted of 4×4’ing on his ATV, Swimming in the lake, hiking, and mostly relaxing.  I then crashed a wedding in GTA with a friend of mine.  I think this was the first wedding that I went to that I didn’t know a single person.  But it was fun! And met a few people there! (Even got to color in a Xena: Warrior Princess coloring book!… inside joke).  The next day was back at the cottage next door.  We had a nice campfire, did some boating, 4×4’ing again, and of course more swimming.  I almost didn’t come home!

I love the cottage country, and will definitely be in the area again in the next few weeks!

The drive up to the cottage was also worth mentioning.  I took the back way, through Hockley valley, and Creemore.  I just love exploring new towns, and new back roads, etc.  I even came up on a Canada Day Parade!  I visited the Beer Brewery in Creemore, and had a small tour of their Brewery.  It was awesome!  The roads were incredible in that area, and Jocelyn did amazing on the nice twisty roads! (350z).

Anyways.. check out the pics below.
